E-Xpert 501 equipped Nuna 3 wins prestigious solar car race for third time in a row!
28/9/2005
Formula 1 driver Christijan Albers gets ready for a test drive in the E-Xpert 501 equipped Nuna 3.
The Nuna 3 dominated the entire race in Australia and broke its 2003 record of 30 hours and 54 minutes with almost two hours.
Just like the former winning car Nuna 2, the Nuna 3 was equipped with two E-Xpert 501 battery monitors, communication interfaces and modified voltage prescalers.
While the driver could use the E-Xpert 501 display for quick checking the most important parameters, all collected and calculated data from the E-Xpert 501 was wirelessly transported to the follow car for further analysis.
According to Nuna 3 team leader Jorrit Lousberg, the data processed by the E-Xpert 501 was extremely important to determine the right racing strategy under reduced sunlight conditions. Besides the extensive data processing capabilities, the very high accuracy and low power consumption of the E-Xpert 501 proved to be the right choice in this high tech application.
